Introducing

Seki Kanetsugu

Seki Kanetsugu was founded in 1918 by Matsujiro Kawamura, who’s bloodline traces back to a swordsmith by the name of Kanetsugu, making Katanas in 1345. He prides himself on producing the best knives possible to honour Kanetsugu’s name. This Zuiun series is a celebration of the 100 year anniversary of Seki Kanetsugu, and offers a mirror finished blade with a high-performance SG2 core with a limited edition Heptagon handle.

Blade Type

The Petty is a smaller utility knife, often ranging from 120-150mm. It is for fine dicing, mincing, and off-board work.

Steel Type

SG “Powder Stainless Steel” contains more carbon that traditional carbon steel knives (Aogami, Shirogami) but is also high in stainless elements. This means your knife will hold an extremely sharp edge for a very long time, whilst requiring basically no maintenance in order to stay rust-free. This steel is extremely hard. The harder the steel, the more brittle it can be.

Recommended Maintenance

· Store your knife in a dry environment away from leather pouches or any sources of moisture.

· To maintain your Japanese knives’ sharp edge use a
whetstone. Stones are available on our website.

Beautiful knife. Incredibly sharp out of the box but also very delicate compared to other pettys I’ve used.
