Introducing

Sakai Kikumori

Sakai Kikumori was founded in 1926 by Kawamura Hamono as a wholesaler, and they work with some of the best blacksmiths in Japan. The Nihonko are a stellar workhorse knife range using SK carbon steel. Think FKM, but with better edge retention. A comfortable, tapered western handle with classic blade profiles means a brilliant robust all-rounder with great performance for an excellent price.

Blade Type

The Petty is a smaller utility knife, often ranging from 120-150mm. It is for fine dicing, mincing, and off-board work.

Steel Type

High-carbon steel made by Hitachi Metals in Japan. It has a fantastic edge holding ability, toughness, and ease of sharpening. It contains few stainless elements, and as such will develop a patina, and may develop rust spots if left wet after use.

Recomended Maintenance
