Introducing

Mark Barrett

I enjoy hand forging my knives out of high carbon steels, including my own damascus and San-Mai billets. Most of my knives follow a Japanese profile, whilst my handles feature some of the magnificent hardwoods that we have available in Australia.

Blade Type

The Petty is the perfect utility knife for the kitchen. It has a long, slender profile, perfect for trimming, small mincing and dicing, and off-board cutting.

Steel Type

A high carbon steel, one of the tried and tested carbon steels of knifemaking. It has a fantastic edge holding ability, toughness, and ease of sharpening. It contains no stainless elements, and as such will develop a patina, and may develop rust spots if left wet after use.

Recommended Maintenance

· Store your knife in a dry environment away from leather pouches or any sources of moisture.

· To maintain your Japanese knives’ sharp edge use a
whetstone. Stones are available on our website.
